Treasurer Osborn to try and give back $350,000
today in Omaha

Lincoln, Neb. Today, State Treasurer Shane Osborn and members of the Unclaimed Property Division will be knocking on doors in Omaha in an attempt to give back $350,000 in unclaimed money to a multitude of residents.

“Last year, we enjoyed great success with our door-to-door program,” Treasurer Osborn said. “Not only were we were able to give back a substantial amount of money, but it was such a pleasure to surprise people at their door with a check in my hand.”

“These are some tough economic times, so I know how important it is for my Unclaimed Property Division to increase its efforts in returning this money back to Nebraska residents. Since the average unclaimed property check is over $900, I recognize that money can go a long way towards buying groceries for a month, or repairing a car, or paying off the remaining debt on a credit card.”

If any Nebraskan is interested to see if they, or a loved one, have unclaimed property, they can call the Unclaimed Property office at 402.471.8497 or do an online search at www.treasurer.org
